This PDI describes the importance of note-taking guides, how to create them, and how to use them effectively. It will help instructors increase student engagement in and active listening during lecture-style instruction. First-hand experience has taught me that, ultimately, this technique will help instructors increase student retention of information and their pass rates on final exams.
