October Recerts

PDI NEWS:

All - As you know, the MICRB extended the recertification dates of instructors scheduled to recertify in April and June of 2020 to August 1, 2020, due to the COVID 19 shutdown and cancellation of in-person PDI. Since that time, significant effort has gone into the development and delivery of on-line options, allowing those who were short at the shutdown to meet their PDI requirements.

Instructors who were proactive and had already met all of their recertification requirements prior to their original recertification dates are concerned that any PDI they complete subsequently will not be applied to the next certification cycle.

Please rest assured that ALL INSTRUCTORS WHO ARE DOCUMENTED TO HAVE COMPLETED THEIR RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO THEIR ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED RECERTIFICATION DATES WILL BE ALLOWED TO APPLY ANY SUBSEQUENT PDI EARNED TOWARD THEIR NEXT CYCLE.

This will require due diligence on the parts of the instructors, the sponsoring agencies and the MICRB to ensure that PDI is not used for both cycles. Documentation with dates and proof of successful completion will be critical, and everyone is encouraged to keep meticulous records so that if the MICRB requests them, they will be readily available.

Until such time as face-to-face courses resume, the MICRB will waive the six (6) hour limit on on-line PDI. Just a reminder - all PDI must be approved by the MICRB, including on-line options.
